Though I hadn’t yet created my 100 airport goal, by early 2013 I was starting to get interested in visiting airports I hadn’t been to before. Austin was one of the first airports where I realized that I could fly into a further away airport for a work trip as long as the cost was cheaper and I was willing to drive, so for a trip to Abilene I found that airfare for AUS was much cheaper than flying into ABI, and I booked the Austin ticket.
That Austin/Abilene trip was also the same trip where one of my flights home had to return to its departure airport due to an electrical issue.
