Northwest Arkansas National Airport
Bentonville/Fayetteville, Arkansas, United States

On one of my trips to Tulsa, I was unable to find a flight itinerary into TUL at the right time of day. However, XNA had flights that worked and wasn’t too far away. I ended up flying into XNA, driving to Tulsa in a one-way car rental, and flying home from TUL at the end of the week.
This airport did give me some trouble with its name, though. In my flight log and on the title of my One Hundred Airports pages, I generally try to use the name of an airport as it would show up on an airport departures board (typically a city name, sometimes followed by an airport name if a city has more than one major airport). However, XNA serves both Fayetteville and Bentonville in a region known as Northwest Arkansas, and there was no consistency in what the airport was called:
Ultimately, the aircrew announcements on my flight also called it “Northwest Arkansas,” so I decided to go with that.
